48V technologies – helping to deliver the future, today
For decades, cars have used 12V electrical systems. Today, the growth in vehicle complexity and feature count is causing the electrical loading in vehicles to increase. This calls for new solutions – such as 48V systems. The higher voltage is ideal for features such as stop-start systems, compressors, electric power steering and regenerative braking.
The increased voltage means that smaller cable cross-sections can be used – reducing the harness weight.
